WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF MY SITE ONCE IT'S BUILT?
MWG builds sites in a very easy to use platform so that you can take over yourself once its done. You buy the service from a company that has free 24-7 support so once you take over the reins, you will have help available without having to continue paying MWG for site maintenance. Of course if you don't want to do that, we can continue our business relationship long term and we invoice you for future work on a case-by-case basis.
WHERE WILL MY SITE BE HOSTED?
If you don't have anything already in place, we have partnered with www.BrowseClickGo.com for domain registration and website builder/online store builder services and will assist you in making a purchase there. MWG has arranged to get her clients 15% off the cost of those builders and other items you may need (email, email marketing, SEO products, etc.). If you have a different website builder/online store builder in mind, she can build in most of them (Wix, Weebly, SquareSpace, BigCommerce), and she will build with WordPress, but she supplies the hosting and ongoing maintenance afterward because we have found our clients were unable to learn the program since its a content management system instead of a drag and drop.
IS THERE CONTINUING COSTS WITH YOUR SERVICE?
There is always going to be a hosting fee to have a site online no matter who builds it. The invoice you receive from MWG will be a one time fee (unless its Wordpress) for site build labor. Hosting costs will continue for as long as you want to keep the site online.
WHEN YOU MENTION NUMBER OF PAGES OR TABS, WHAT CONSTITUTES A PAGE/TAB?
A lot of folks are still old school and call a website a "web page" or "home page". Those are actually inaccurate labels. Rarely is a website only one page. For instance, the "home page" is only the first page that displays when a website is opened in a browser. Tabs are the navigation buttons that run long the top of each page and when clicked display different page. So for an easy example if your website has 5 navigation buttons (i.e. Home, About, FAQ, Contact, Blog) then you have a 5 page website.
WHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO MUCH LOWER THAN OTHER WEB DESIGNERS?
Easy. This is a home based business with very low overhead and MWG would rather charge less to serve more small businesses than to make more on few clients.
HOW MANY REVISIONS AM I ALLOWED FOR THE ORIGINAL QUOTED PRICE?
MWG would love to keep revising the site until you are happy with it, however there has to be a cut off of three (3) for the price quoted. If you still have changes and/or additions after that, she will have to increase the amount quoted to cover the extra time and labor.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY SITE TO GO LIVE?
A lot this depends more on you than on MWG. You are the expert in your field and therefore you will need to supply her with content for the most part. The faster you can get her the info, the faster she can compile and present it in website form.
WHAT IF I HAVE A DOMAIN NAME ALREADY? CAN YOU USE IT?
Absolutely! As long as you can grant MWG access to where you have the domain registered so that she can adjust its DNS settings. However she always suggests you try to have all of your web related products with one company so she may suggest a domain transfer to where your site will be hosted.
IF I HAVE NO DOMAIN, HOSTING OR EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR MY BUSINESS WILL YOU HELP ME ACQUIRE ALL OF THAT?
Yes, of course! MWG worked for the leading domain registrar and website hosting company for 10 years, so she knows exactly what all you will need.
WILL MY SITE SHOW UP ON GOOGLE AND OTHER SEARCH ENGINES?
That takes time, but yes. MWG will be able to explain that process to you in more detail when we meet (either in person or via telephone/teleconference). Important note: If you are currently using a free website builder, chances are you will never show up in search engines. You get what you pay for.
WHAT IS BLOGGING AND WHY ITS IN IMPORTANT FOR A SITE?
Blogging is the composition and posting of industry related information that will assist in better search engine rank for a couple of reasons. 1) Google likes sites that grow and have new info each time their crawlers visit the site and 2) the articles will be chock full of great keywords that may not be in your basic site pages, therefore increases the way Google will index you.
WHAT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO PAY FOR YOUR SERVICES?
You will receive an invoice from MWG and will have the option to pay with credit/debit card or transfer directly from your checking account to mine. You can also make payment via CashApp, Venmo and PayPal, however you'd initiate that from your side rather than from the invoice. No work will be done until payment in full is made.
HOW WILL I KNOW HOW TO WORK ON THE SITE AFTER YOU'RE DONE?
You will have a "wrap up call" during which MWG will share her screen with you using the Chrome extension Google Remote Desktop. Don't worry, she has made a video tutorial to show you how to make that happen on your end. As mentioned before, the site will be hosted with a company that offers free 24-7 support so if you get stuck, help is just a phone call away.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
It's pretty simple. If work on your site has begun, there typically will be no refund as you are paying for time and effort. If for some reason you're not happy with your site before it's finished, we may be able to work out a pro-rated refund of some sort depending on how much time has been invested, but your complaints must be justifiable and not just you having higher expectations than what is possible in the building environment being used (examples: She can't put flash content on a template driven site builder, force the online store to take different payment methods other than the stated options or run script behind the scenes to sneakily gather visitor info for you). MWG will be transparent with you about what your site will and will not do. The invoice you will pay to My Website Girl is for labor only and she does not offer any refunds for the domain/hosting/builder having technical issues. Those refunds would need to be discussed with the provider of those services.
